I would suggest that the links and pictures be removed from the thread for copyright infringement. That's why the artists are deleting the pictures.

Many forum/show art work/etc sites have a thing that claim right to ANY picture posted on their web space. So, if some artist post their work there, the web site actually got the right to use the art however they like. I know deviant art had it, not sure if conceptart.org have it.

A story I heard:
There was an artist in Deviant Art (DA) who posted a company product that he/she worked for, and the company read the "rules" of the DA and didn't like it. So, they sued DA. DA later shift the fault to the artist, and the artist end up the one that was in deep trouble.

I assume the artists deleting their post might have something to do with something similar. I don't really see anything of that sort in conceptart.org though. Maybe Anet just don't want their artist running lose. (Those art legally belong to Anet, not the artist)

OR they just don't want to spoil it.

Hi guys,

let me take a moment to explain what happened earlier with the Guild Wars Factions concept art post. The members of the ArenaNet art team who post on CA.org posted a cross-section of some of the art that will appear in the Official Guild Wars Faction Art Book that will be included with the special edition of WCF package. Because of legal reasons, we had to take down the art. However after May 20th we have permission to post even more art! We'll be putting up all of our artwork then, but hopefully in the meantime, you guys go out and buy Factions! Check out some of the art and screenshots at www.guildwars.com
